From your patio to your grill, here’s a few fun outdoor projects to make your summer
Install Outdoor Lighting
Outdoor lighting can really make your home stand out beautifully. Whether you choose to DIY your lighting project or you want to install an outlet and lighting fixtures, the difference will be unbelievable once you plug in. Outdoor lighting is also helpful if you have little ones who like to play outside even when it’s dark out.
Build an outdoor firepit.
Summertime is perfect for sitting around the firepit and telling stories and making s’mores. Bonfires aren’t always the safest, though, so if you plan on having a get together any time soon, you might want to install or build an outdoor firepit! You can buy a firepit relatively cheap, or you can even buy a firepit kit and install your own. All you’ll need is stones, a steel ring, and sandbags to act as your base and you’ll have yourself a firepit.
Build a patio
Summer is the perfect time to build that patio and put your design skills to work. You might not be able to use it this summer, but it’ll be ready to go by next summer once our get-togethers aren’t as socially distanced. Whether it’s a stone patio or a brick patio, there’s plenty of options for installing a paver patio. A patio also increases the value of your home!

Building a deck is one of the most common DIY outdoor projects. It’s also one of the hardest, so make sure you have all the right tools and the right layout before you get started. You may need permits or inspections before you build your deck, so don’t jump right into it. Lowe’s has a great step-by-step guide for DIY-ing your own deck.
Install outdoor furniture
Whether you’re repurposing old furniture or buying new, the possibilities are endless for outdoor furniture. Benches, chairs, tables, or even swings can all be part of your new outside sitting area. Summer is the best time to head outside and sand down and stain that old coffee table. You can even build your own outdoor furniture! Whether you’re making it a DIY or you’re taking multiples trips to Lowe’s, start creating your outdoor furniture set today.
