Social distancing is here to stay, so here are 5 activities you can do this spring or summer while maintaining safe social distancing practices!
The coronavirus pandemic has swept the nation rather quickly, and although our economies are slowly opening and stay-at-home orders are waning, social distancing is still a big part of our “new normal”. You might have to take a raincheck on that summer vacation, but hopefully, this blog will help quell your quarantine boredom! Here are 5 safe social-distancing activities to get you through spring or summer.
Clean Your House
Have you noticed your counters, cabinets, or your entire house could use a deep-clean? Spring cleaning is a great social distancing activity! It doesn’t require contact with people and you don’t even have to leave your house for cleaning products—check out our blog post on spring cleaning to make your own, home-made cleansers with a few common household ingredients!
Now is as good a time as any to make sure your counters gleam.
Go For A Walk
While you shouldn’t be leaving your house unless it’s necessary, taking a walk around your neighborhood or your area is perfectly fine as long as you’re keeping social distancing practices in mind. Make sure to wear a mask and stay 6 feet from other walkers as you stroll along but go enjoy that fresh air and vitamin D!
Pick Up A New Hobby
What better time to pick up a new hobby or learn a new craft than quarantine? You probably won’t become the next Picasso or Gordon Ramsay, but now is the perfect time to learn how to paint or cook. There’s a plethora of painting tutorials on YouTube or cooking recipes online. Try a new activity outside of your comfort zone, you might just find a new passion! Plus, any hobby that’s safe to do in the comfort of your own home is following social distancing to a T.
Have a Social Distancing BBQ
May is National BBQ Month and grilling is easily one of the best ways to stay social while maintaining those handy social distance practices. Food prep is easy as there is basically no need to touch the food directly! You can use tongs and skewers to flip and transfer the food on and off the grill. You can also put the social back in social distancing—have your neighbors pull up a chair (6 feet away, of course), and share some good food and good times together!
Home Improvements and Remodeling
Believe it or not, home renovations and remodeling projects are on the rise! Quarantine probably had you watching HGTV and scrolling through Pinterest with a keen eye on some new home improvement projects, right? Use that creativity and make a change in your home. And although DIY is totally trendy, we’re still up and running for all your remodeling needs.
